This would be our 11th cruise with Celebrity.
Pre-Cruise Stay:
We chose the Fairmont Waterfront Hotel for our pre-cruise (one night) stay. We were assigned Room #709 (facing Canada Place) and it so happened that the Eclipse berthed on the East side which the direction our room was facing. The Fairmont Vancouver was an outstanding stay.
Cabin Selection: Concierge Cabin #1063
We initially booked a Concierge Cabin C2 for its location and large balcony; however then Celebrity lowered the price point on the Concierge Guarantee category and it was during their Big Promo sale which included one perk. We switched to the lower price point as there were a great number of Concierge cabins available, so we knew we could switch to any available cabin of our choosing within the same category, once it was assigned. Within approximately 10 days, we were assigned our cabin; a C3 category towards the aft of the ship. We decided to move forward for this trip to Cabin 1063 as it offered a more direct line of sight to the sea below (ie., without lifeboats below).
We did receive multiple emails from Celebrity offering bids to upgrade to Aqua Class and Suites – but for this trip, we decided to stay put for the short 7-Night itinerary.
