This would be our second visit to the island of beaches and were looking forward to our return. Our first visit we did the “Lawrence of Arabia” tour and visited Nelson’s Dockyard with a short beach stop. This time we chose to spend our entire visit “at the beach” and joined a large group from Cruise Critic and we headed off to the highly recommend, “Beach Limerz” which was a short drive from the cruise port.
Beach Limerz offers two packages:
1. all-inclusive for $60 USD per person (group discount rate) that includes all water sports equipment and a buffet-style lunch. Also, since our group was 30+, they offered unlimited rum punch throughout the day.
2. “Pay as you Go” plan for $25 USD per person. This included 2 chairs, an umbrella and $30 USD (per couple) credit towards drinks and/or food.
We chose the Pay as you Go option and it was more than enough for the 2 of us. We had a full lunch and owed a $10 USD balance at the end of the day. Therefore, total cost for the day was $60 USD (vs $60 per person compared to Option #1 above).
Beach Limerz offers a beautiful white sandy beach, full restaurant & bar, with washroom facilities. We had an amazing time and it truly was a day of relaxation.
Later in the morning, we decided to go for a short hike to an old fort near Beach Limerz. It’s a shame they really let this area go as it offers historical value and would be awesome if cleaned up.
Never the less, we enjoyed the stroll and observed a few island birds along the way.
